Whats Up With All The Apartments For Sale At 196 Sixth Avenue?
While the NY Post is writing about a celebrity selling their apartment at 196 Sixth Avenue, I would like to point out there must be something serious going on with the building at 196 Sixth Avenue.
Currently 3 out of 20 apartments are on the market (#1E, #3A, #4A) and already in 2016, 3 other apartments were on the market (#6C, #7C, #1F). All of the units have a huge ongoing assessment (for example #3A has a $924.30 per month assessment). None of the listings explain the ongoing assessment!!
The building was constructed in 1893 and converted to a co-op in 1987. It was used as the 10th Precinct police station before becoming the NYPD quartermaster’s storehouse.
Here are two photos from two different units in the building:
The units are pretty good layouts but with the high maintenance, seem to be overpriced. What are your thoughts?
