The exterior of 529 Broadway is just about finished: The first few floors are rumored to be a Niketown, and the first floor is rumored to be leased at $1,600 a square foot. The next highest retail price that I’m aware of is Prada up the street for $1,000 a square foot! While asking prices […]

Kim & Kanye are obviously not in NYC right now…if they were, there would be a swarm of paparazzi! But…when Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are in NYC, they reside at 25 West Houston. SoHo 25 is a 9 story residential condo building that was built in 2004. Before that, it was a parking lot. There are […]
Recently a Theory Men’s store opened up next to the existing Theory Women’s store. I stopped in and it looks like a permanent space but the manager’s told me they are planning on moving to Greene street in the upcoming months. It’s the same landlord for both spaces so I’m assuming they are planning on marketing […]

I was notified by Thomas Sires that they have had two thefts this week from the same people/person. They also stole from Clare V. The shoplifter takes items and shoves them down his pants. I hope other retailers can share their photos to hopefully stop them!
Soho now has one less restaurant. Back Forty West closed and they are planning for a garage sale tomorrow (July 19th) through Friday. I posted two photos of items for sale below: Definitely stop by to check out some of their antique items!

Dos Caminos let me know they are offering free guacamole tonight from 4-6pm. They are launching a new catch-phrase “Guactailing” which means drinking a cocktail while eating chips & guac. They just released a new menu with three new guacamole flavors! La Flaca: watermelon, ginger, mint, queso fresco and cucumber chips. Langosta: steamed Maine lobster, grilled […]
Todd Carmichel, the founder of La Colombe, is a GENIUS. By working with local cafe’s and coffee shops, La Colombe coffee has a monopoly in Soho. With a recent investment from Chobani (rumors of a $28M investment last year that Chobani’s founder Hamdi Ulukaya is the sole investor) La Colombe has been expanding all over […]
When Taka Taka closed (a Japanese / Mexican fusion restaurant) it was around a year before another restaurant ventured to take its place. During that time, the block of Grand between West Broadway and Thompson changed significantly. Two big changes were the Nike private training studio and Cat Cafe opening. When Combina (Israeli / Spanish fusion […]

While retail brokers will talk about how well business on West Broadway is, evidence tells another story. Over the weekend, Just Cavalli and Diesel Kids closed. The “West Side” of West Broadway is turning into a grave yard (several galleries have closed between Prince and Houston this year as well) Just Cavalli (434 West Broadway) […]
