Cafe Borgia II Lost Their Lease – Closed On Prince Street
The stretch of Prince Street between West Broadway and Thompson Street has seen a lot of change over the past few months, first with Marisa Perry closing, Lisa Perry opening (and subsequently closing – it was a pop-up afterall), and the closure of Badichi belts.
This morning, the block lost another Soho treasure, Cafe Borgia II, which lost their lease.
I personally loved Cafe Borgia for quaint & quiet cappuccinos and dessert. My favorite was their pecan pie a la mode. I hope they decide to open up in the neighborhood! the ‘Snice store would be perfect on Sullivan Street!
History: The NY Times reported in 2001 that the first Cafe Borgia, “Cafe Borgia I” lost their lease in the West Village January 14, 2001. They re-opened on Prince Street shortly after.
