Café Noir – Closed For Good?

I walked past Café Noir, the Spanish tapas restaurant on Thompson and Grand November 4, 2013 and noticed that the signs and all evidence of existence were gone!  Café Noir – Closed For Good?

After walking past the restaurant tonight, I noticed a sign, “Notice – Restricted Access – Contact 212-675-3303″

The management company for the building answered when I called, confirming that Café Noir had officially closed.  After google searching, I learned that the operators of Café Noir, The Forgeois Group are moving to 35 Lispenard in Tribeca and will open early 2014.

Café Noir had been in operation for over 18 years in Soho.  After the re-launch, the menu will change from Spanish tapas to “Gastro Bites,” and there will be a more sophisticated wine list and innovative mixology program introduced.

Café Noir is officially moving out of SOHOstrut territory and into TribecaCitizen’s neck of the woods!  Maybe I’ll get invited to the opening?
