The Nautica Flagship Opened On Prince Street – Between Apple and J Crew

Maybe it was just me who thought there were way too many Michael Kors stores in Soho…but as of last week, there is one less!

Nautica launched its flagship last Friday (May 6th, 2016) at 101 Prince Street and has a very nautical feel for the spring season.

The store opening embodies the brand’s refreshed marketing and design strategy that was announced in February 2016.  The new positioning: Reimagine Nautica – Inspired by the Sea, Designed in the City, celebrates the brand’s home in New York City and its established nautical heritage.

“We are thrilled to open the doors to the Nautica flagship store in one of the world’s top shopping destinations. It is exciting for our brand and consumers to have a retail location in the city that we have called home for over 30 years,” said Karen Murray, President of Nautica.

The new store will deliver a re-imagined nautical environment with references to a modern cityscape. The energy of the city and essence of the sea provided inspiration for the sophisticated, boutique-style store environment. Nautical references can be found throughout the 2,000 square foot space, with signature design features such as wooden beams made of natural oak wood to capture the essence of a boat and the architecture of the city.

The new store services both men and women and has recruited some of the top retail managers and talent in the neighborhood for an elevated level of service.  A focus on enhanced consumer services will also be implemented, including custom tailoring and same day home delivery in Manhattan for all online and in-store purchases.  Additionally, Nautica plans to partner with local SoHo businesses in various capacities to show support for the community and its neighbors and brands.

Nautica even created a cute neighborhood guide including nautical cuisine and other partner brands of its parent company.
