San Carlo Is Opening Soon – Replacing Le Pescadeux
I was walking to work this morning and saw the new signage for San Carlo, an Italian restaurant that is opening soon at 90 Thompson:
The NY Post reported on Valentines Day about the opening:
San Carlo Osteria Piemonte is slated to open next month at 90 Thompson St. in the former Le Pescadeux space. The 1,600-square-foot restaurant will have 40 seats in the dining room and six at the bar. It is designed by Thomas Schlesser of Design Bureaux, who worked on interiors at Bar Boulud, DBGB Kitchen and Bar and Ma Peche.
The eatery comes from three Turin natives: Moreno Cerutti, a marketing exec; Carlo Rolle, a restaurateur; and Davide Ferrari, former general manager of La Piccola Cucina in SoHo. The chef is Riccardo Zebro.
The food will be a mix of Italian imports — think Barolo and Barbaresco wines, artisinal meats and cheeses, white truffles — and locally sourced seasonal ingredients.
