Social Media Strategy Breakfast at Lolë Re-Cap

I don’t know if most of you know, but I host events for retail managers here in SoHo!  This morning, 30 retail managers met for breakfast at Lolë in SoHo for three presentations by social media strategists!

Breakfast included muffins and yogurt parfait station provided by Lolë as well as Lulitonix juice and Nespresso coffee!

Our first presenter was Matt Archambault, Director of VIP, for Brand Yourself.

Next up was Lauren Karasek, VP for MWW Public Relations.  She created a fabulous presentation on Social Marketing for Retail Brands.

Finally, we had Andrew Fried, the founder of Spark Growth.  Andrew presented on a case study for the #selfieshoes campaign for Miz Mooz.

Some of the take-aways include:
  • Facebook is a paid advertising platform – it is not good for organic content reach although you can still use it for promoting events
  • You can leverage your brands corporate social media strategy by creating local content (McDonalds/French Fries)
  • Surprise and delight is an under-utilized way to increase brand awareness and loyalty by using customers content in a new, meaningful way
