The Art Of Collecting Ceramics – Soho Salon #1 With Paul Kowalchuk
This past Sunday marked the first of many Soho Salons featuring collector/curator, Paul Kowalchuk:
Paul is an avid collector of mid-20th century American Pottery, exhibition curator, author and founder of the on-line ceramic collectors’ blog, Studio Potter Archive.
The event started at 3pm with a wine reception and at 3:30pm, Paul presented his views on “Collecting — A Museum of One’s Own Making”. At 5:00 PM Kowalchuk discussed his perspective on secondary market trends in collecting contemporary art.
I am working with Dianne Mendez to create a series of programs centered around occasional gatherings of collectors, curators, artists, writers and art enthusiasts who will meet & mingle in Soho lofts to show and discuss artwork, sources of inspiration, preferred techniques and perspectives on collecting.
If you or someone you know might be interested in hosting a future Salon at their loft or gallery space, please reach out!
