Top 5 New Places To Check Out In SoHo!

I was inspired to put together a list of the top 5 new places to check out in SoHo after writing an upcoming guest post on NYC Girl In Pearls!  The list includes shopping, art galleries, restaurants and real estate eye candy with a sprinkle of celebrity on top.

1.  Stop by the newly opened Trademark – the store owned and operated by Tory Burch’s daughters.  Trademark opened September 3, 2014 and is located at 95 Grand Street (@ Greene).  The company was founded in 2013 and poises to be an American sportswear company.

2.  Go to an Open House of Actor Jonah Hill‘s SoHo loft at 27 Howard Street!  After only living in the loft for 2 years, SoHo must have been too cool for Jonah and he has listed his unit for $3.8 million (and raking in a million dollar profit along the way).  However, at 2,000 square feet and not a whole lot of windows, it might be difficult to get $1,900 per square foot in a co-op building!  $3.3 million is a little more reasonable.

3.  Get a coffee at newly opened Pi Bakerie on Broome (@ Thompson).  I haven’t read a whole lot about this cafe, but the word must have gotten out because every time I pass it, there are no empty seats!  In addition to coffee and pastries, they also have classic Greek pies and salads.

4.  Visit the recently re-located Morrison Hotel Gallery at 116 Prince Street (@ Greene).  While the Morrison Hotel Gallery has been in operation for the past 14 years, they recently moved next door and upstairs to a larger location, around 1,200 square feet.  The space has attracted legends in music, including Tony Bennett, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Graham Nash and Patti Smith.

5.  Schedule a tour at the newly opened WeWork on West Broadway.  WeWork is a co-working space where start-ups can work in a collaborative working environment.  The loft building is still under construction, but you can see a classic SoHo factory from top-to-bottom.  {All you have to do is pretend you have a business and a community manager will show you around.}  I recently toured the facility and was fascinated – there is even a huge  skylight on the top floor.
