Help Clean Up Soho!
KEEP OUR COMMUNITY SAFE AND BEAUTIFUL.
Launched in November 2016, Clean Up SoHo is an informal network of volunteers in SoHo Community consisting of corporate sponsors, local businesses, co-op/condo associations, and individuals.
Spearheaded by Dianne Mendez of Mendez SoHo, Danielle Nazinitsky of Soho Strut and Sean Sweeney of SoHo Alliance, the group is working with the Department of Sanitation (DSNY) to educate all stakeholders about NYC trash disposal and collection regulations, as well as DSNY’s “Adopt/Sponsor a Basket” initiative.
Clean Up SoHo also interviewed supplemental street cleaning providers and ultimately selected and recommended Wildcat Service Corporation as the recipient of a grant awarded by Council Member Margaret Chin’s Office.
We are currently working toward our goal of placing new high-capacity trash baskets on 100 street corners in SoHo. We are also seeking to raise $120,000 to support supplemental street cleaning when the Council funds are exhausted.
